If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. ~Albert Einstein

Energy, Energy, Energy

We have officially wrapped out our matter unit!  What a ride! I hope you enjoyed the experience as I did teaching it.  Now we are off to spend the rest of the school year focusing on energy.

Our first stop is in the computer lab where we will spend the next two days learning about energy through online activities.  Students who returned a completed Edmodo and Kidblog permission slip will set up their accounts while we are in the lab.  Remember if you need to see the privacy policies, just go to my technology page and find each website.  There is a link to both policies there.

Science is about discovery learning, so this unit will not be an exception to the rule.  Once students get situated our journey begins at the Energy Skate Park.  Have fun and play around in the meantime, but while you are having some fun think about how I could possibly connect this simulation to science.  Tickets please!

Now that was a pretty cool activity! Our fun isn't over yet...right this way please.  There is nothing better than getting to the theater in time to catch the latest films on energy.  I think we are just in time to catch the next showing. Let's get a seat.

Those were some really great videos that just touched the surface of what we will be learning.  Our day isn't over just yet.  We have just a few more stops to make.  Of course by now you must be curious about what it is we must learn by the time this short unit is done, right? Well, let's take a quick stop here to find out.

Well the day is coming to an end so we better call it a day. Let me turn on the radio and see what's going on in the world of energy.

Thanks for spending the day with me.  It was definitely fun learning about energy before class on Monday.  Let's see how we can take this information and really kick up the discussion in class.
