Sept. 7-10

Dear Parents and Students,

I hope you enjoyed the Labor Day weekend and ready for another dynamic week! This week in Science we official start our NEW UNIT!

This Week's Agenda:
- "Unpacking the (Matter) Standards
- Describing Matter activity
- Introduction to Atoms
- Atoms vs. Molecules
- Molecules vs. Compounds

Homework:
Study daily lessons 15-20 minutes (a minimum) each night
Work on Journal Entries 7-8 (5-6 were done last week)
Write summaries at end of Cornell Notes

Important Dates:
8th - Early release (Please make sure your child knows how to get home.)
9th - Picture Day
10th - Journals 5-8 due
10th - Progress Reports for EVERY class

Donations:
Two of our labs for this unit requires the following supplies. Any donations to make this lab possible would be greatly appreciated!
Vegetable oil (the cheaper the better) - 4 regular-sized bottles per class
Food coloring
Alka-Seltzer packages
Clean plastic water bottles
zip-lock snack baggies or the cheaper brand (must be able to seal) - 1 box per class
1bottle Sta-Flo liquid starch
plastic forks
small paper/plastic bowls
