January 23- 27

Motion and Force Unit

By the end of this unit, students will know the relationship between force, mass, and the motion of objects. (Here is the Force and Motion Study Guide.)

Monday
Advance – Collaborative assignment work in-class (students are responsible for props and materials needed for their project)

Regular – Workbook pages 128-135 (Students are responsible for removing and stapling sheets from their workbooks). Complete and store in the notes section of your binder.
Tuesday

Regular – Lab 404 - Motion Activities started

Wednesday
Advance – Collaborative assignment in media center (students are responsible for props and materials needed for their project)

Regular – Media Center - Reading Scavenger Hunt: Students will select one of the available books and search for examples of motion and force from a list provided in class.

Thursday
Advance – Collaborative assignment in Lab 404(students are responsible for props and materials needed for their project)

Regular –Lab 404 - Motion Activities completed

Friday
Advance – Collaborative assignment work in-class (students are responsible for props and materials needed for their project)

Regular –  Update Wave Portfolio; Friction PPT (students are responsible for getting notes from their peers when absent)- time permitting


Homework this week:
1. Journals 31 – 32 - Choose 2 topics to reflect upon for this week. Use the Journal Checklist to ensure you have all components. You must submit 4 complete journals to get a minimum score of 70%.

2. Pink Slip #12 – Paste the slip onto a sheet of paper. Below the slip provide a justification supporting or not support each possible answer choice. On the pink slip highlight your final answer based upon your written rationales. If you lose your pink slip, a new one is located here. A new sheet will not be provided in class.
