Motion and Force Unit

By the end of this unit, students will know the relationship between force, mass, and the motion of objects. (Here is the Force and Motion Study Guide.)

2. Pink Slip #12 – Paste the slip onto a sheet of paper. Below the slip provide a justification supporting or not support each possible answer choice. On the pink slip highlight your final answer based upon your written rationales. If you lose your pink slip, a new one is located here. A new sheet will not be provided in class. It is your responsibility to keep up with your pink slips. Due Dates: Monday – 3rd; Tuesday – 4th; Wednesday – 5th; Thursday – 6th

1. Refer to the graph on page 316. What aspects of the graph are you familiar with? How do you find the slope?

3. Refer to the leaf/acorn visual on page 347. Interpret what the arrows imply about the motion of the two objects in terms of gravity and air resistance. Why does the acorn appear to be falling faster than the leaf? Why do you think this is happening?

Please note that there are a couple of changes to our normal routine.  Please mark all important dates on your calendar so that you are aware of things to come.

Journals and Pink Slips will resume the week of January 17th. Student should use this time to study for the test over light and sound.
Waves Unit test will be administered January 11th. Please use the parent tutor guide, which was mailed early December to review for this test.
